I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new Chairman Alan Maris, Alan is also secretary of Grassmoor Homing Society, a club which is affiliated to our federation, Alan has raced pigeons for many years, i firmly believe he will be an asset to our federation, he is a person who will give 100% to the cause, also i trust when Alan is asked to make important decisions, will always put the federation first.

When the previous federation secretary Mrs June Yates resigned it was a very sad day for the federation, but June who was in her 70s, she had done a strirling job for many years keeping the federation at the top, i was present at the meeting when June finally decided to retire as secretary, it was at this same meeting when i was asked to become new federation secretary, i was already secretary of my own club Shirland Miners Welfare Flying Club, my own club was affiliated to the federation, but not being affraid of a challenge i decided to take the opertunity and become the new federation secretary. I have been involved in racing pigeons one way or another for most of my life, my father has raced pigeons competitive for over 40 years, but to take up a position as federation secretary was no mean task, but as fellow federation members i am sure will appreciate we have come along way in the 3 years i have been secretary.
